A gentle hands-on practice
Bowen uses gentle movements over areas of soft tissue, separated by pauses. It is a complementary practice, not a substitute for appropriate medical evaluation or treatment. Gentle touch is not a guarantee of suitability or benefit.
Start with a conversation
Ask what the session involves, who will work with you and what training they have completed. Explain any comfort or accessibility needs privately. You can ask for an explanation before touch, change position or stop at any point. Consent is an ongoing conversation.
At Bowen Studio, visits are arranged by telephone. Agree on the day, time and current fee before confirming. Duration is discussed individually; the website does not promise a fixed result or number of sessions.
Keep expectations open
A personal account of feeling comfortable is not proof of clinical effectiveness. Read our evidence overview, and discuss health concerns with a qualified healthcare professional.
